California water softener issue. California law AB 334, which became effective on January 1, 2004, lays a foundation for California communities to ban or restrict water softeners because of salinity issues. Atrazine to remain POU/POE issue. Atrazine, a common agriculture herbicide for more than 40 years can also contaminate drinking water. According to the EPA, Atrazine should be controlled at the watershed, not the treatment plant. For areas where atrazine may be a problem, the use of a POU/POE filter is a must. All Genesis filters reduce greater than 95% of the Atrazine from your drinking water.

The largest waterborne cryptosporidium outbreak in U.S. History occurred in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with an estimated 403,000 people effected and over 40 deaths.
