What is Ultraviolet water filtration?

Simply stated, Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection provides safe drinking water for your family without the use of potentially harmful chemicals. But why do I need UV protection?

• EPA Recommended - UV disinfection is the EPA recommended technology for microorganism control
• UV provides protection against illness - UV effectively destroys microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses and cysts, before they reach your faucet.
• No harmful chemicals or by-products - UV disinfects using high intensity light energy. Unlike chemicals, it does not leave unwanted residuals or potentially harmful by-products in the water.
• UV does not alter the taste or water quality - Since there are no chemicals, UV does not affect the taste, odor or clarity of the water.

• Tested and proven effective - Provides an Ultraviolet dosage over twice the Federal requirement (Federal requirement is 16mJ/m²).
• Electro-polished stainless steel disinfection chamber - With our stainless steel disinfection chamber there is no concern about rust or the problems that often occur with plastic chambers.
• High output low pressure UV lamp - Genesis UV filters are engineered with one high output low-pressure lamp that provides a far greater UV intensity than standard low-pressure lamps.
• Microcomputer control - Genesis utilizes a sophisticated microcomputer control board that monitors the ongoing operational status of the UV filter. An udible alarm will sound with an LED display if the UV filter is not performing to specifications.
